listening.. learning.. observing.. taking notes

the urban ecology center  is a great place to get a little education and network so as i was looking around the site i noticed a program offered by the victory garden initiative

Be a Food Leader with the Victory Garden Initiative!

Be the first to participate in this unique, cutting edge program that combines knowledge of the food system, with community organizing, and the skills needed to grow your own food!  This certificate program, offered by the Victory Garden Initiative, is for people who want to become leaders in the food movement, in their personal or professional lives.  The 2-day retreat is the launching event for the one-year certification program, that also includes 2 day-long community organizing trainings, 8+ Edible Gardening Classes and much more. With supervision, participants will plan and execute a community food project during the one-year training period.

exactly the kind of thing i was looking for only, it began last month, i was a little too late. I wrote the coordinator who is also a good friend of my friend Sarah and she told me they were all filled up and that i could register sometime in Aug. for the next session.. so I’m gonna keep lookin around we have a lot  going on here in Milwaukee. I later went visit Sarah and we had a long productive talk about everything thats going on in my life at the moment Sarah is an inspiration for me and very active within the gardening scene of Milwaukee and her advice is always helpful.
